Not necessarily. There are varying strengths of peel solutions available for use at Lips By Lett. Some of the milder solutions cause an invisible sloughing of skin that results in an evening of complexion and glowing skin. The more advanced solutions are used to target specific concerns such as aging, hyperpigmentation, acne or acne scarring. Those peels range in the time skin is flaking or peeling. Most people can expect between 5-10 days of downtime. Sunscreen is extremely important during the peeling process and afterwards.

Although when placed correctly they both can get rid of lines, they are used for different purposes depending on the area of the face.

Botox relaxes facial muscles that cause expression lines. The most common areas to use Botox are the frown lines, horizontal lines across the forehead, and crows feet. There are also areas that using Botox can correct overactive muscles such as on the nose, muscles that lift the upper lip causing a gummy smile, drooping corners of the mouth, and clenching/grinding muscles in the jaw.

Fillers replace or add volume to dermal tissue. The lips are the most common area to add filler but it can also be used to add volume to the cheeks, chin, jawline, under the eyes, or in the parenthesis lines surrounding the mouth.

Botox typically lasts around 90 days up to 4 months. The effects of Botox just slowly wear off on their own over a few months before they need to be readministered.

Fillers have different longevity depending on the product injected and the area of the face. Hyaluronic acid-based fillers are reversible in the event of an adverse reaction or dissatisfaction from the treatment.

Filler is dispensed in one milliliter syringes. One milliliter converted into teaspoons is .2 of a teaspoon which is less than ¼. A lot of times clients are very concerned with how much product is being injected and that it would be too much volume. Giving clients a different means of measurement usually helps clear up any reservations.

Receiving injectables may cause slight discomfort but is an overall tolerable experience. Measures such as topical numbing and ice are used during the treatment to increase comfort.

The amount of Botox required is dependent on how strong the muscles being treated are. Everyone’s dosage is a little bit different. Below is a range of how many units are typically dispensed in each area.
